The Bank of America Foundation has awarded Ready to Work $25,000 for the current fiscal year. It’s a direct investment in our clients’ economic independence.
The Foundation’s grant is already putting our clients to work as part of supervised crews. Teams of up to five RTW clients are out at least three days a week, picking up trash and clearing overgrown vegetation on streets and neighborhoods throughout San Joaquin County.
Our clients earn a wage for their work, allowing them to build a nest egg while contributing taxes and investing in their own retirement future. They’re also learning the skills necessary to hold down a long-term job, including timeliness, teamwork, and following instruction.
All RTW clients have the opportunity to work on these crews and build their work history; when openings are available, we also employ individuals identified by partner agencies such as the Stockton Shelter for the Homeless.
Our crews are hard at work thanks to the Bank of America Foundation, and our clients are taking the next step toward self-sufficiency!
